HAVING A 'BOBO' HAIRDO WAS IN, THEN...
Oh My!
I didn't realised how much the present ch 8 mandarin dramas super sucks!
The drama cannot be compared to those dramas way before the millenium time. Those 80s and 90s mandarin dramas were so Fun and Unforgetable!
Thanks, You Tube. For refreshing my mind how i was once a mandarin-drama-fanatic. Gluing myself in front of the tv after i came back from school in the afternoon, then at 7p.m then at 9p.m. I even continued watching the variety shows.
Getting myself verbally scolded by dad who so dislike me watching mandarin shows. To him, i was a traitor-liking mandarin show to my own malay shows. I have to be clever to sneak watching my mandarin shows, that's where i pick up my mandarin language. I understand the language so well, that i would even watch it without any subtitle. Due to that, i was also nearly having a chinese boyfriend. Which mum always casually mentioned, knowing how 'chinese' i became.
Ok. Back to SBC and TCS good ol'mandarin dramas.
These were among the favourites ~The Unbeatables~ (Zoe and Nanxing were in there. Those gambling tricks were considered gd!)
~Golden Pillow~ (Those Zoe and Fann fight had begun, then)
~Good Morning, Sir~ ( Ai-yo, yo, laoshi-who can forget. Chen Liping looks cute back then)
~Pretty Faces~ (Remember, Bobo-Zoe first drama to glam)
~The Fringe~ (Nanxing and his wife were Ah Bengs and Ah Lians-there were better those we have now)
~???~ (Whereby Chen Hanwei became a teacher, Fann was popular back then, ann kok became the sick sister. After that show, the crane origami became so popular)
~The Winning Team~ (This is the Favourite!!! Chen Xuhuan and team were the best volleyball players.I remembered after this drama, cousin, sis and me were so enthusiastic playing volleyball and copied their twirling body while smacking the ball. So Bodoh! That was back then, lah.)
~ ?????~ (A local chinese singer-Jimmy chen starred in together with Chythia Koh. Chythia was sort of a groupie, forming a fanclub for him. Hahaha..Back then i collected those pop stars card of the four heavenly kings - Jimmy Lin, Aaron Kwok, Andy Lau and my fav. Jacky Cheung...so kentalness!)
~Strange Encounters pt. 1/2/3~ ( Scary eerie happenings, which is quite like real)
And many more lah.... Serious! They should make a copy of these past serials and make a DVD. I will definitely buy and watch them over and over again, and make sure my kids watch it too!!!!
Apart from those drama, there were even telemovies. I so loved the Chen Hanwei's telemovie-about the seventh month period. He fell in love with a HongKong Actress, the song he sang with the guitar still lingers in mind.
Also! The one with fann wong in it - being a matchmaker in the 60s. So fun! Also! Also! The one that Zoe Tay starred with her dog-jiajia, about her making cocktail drinks!
Gosh!!!! I need these Mandarin shows!!!!
And yes. I favour Zoe to Fann. My cousin adoresss Fann to Zoe. We had fun during the Zoe and Fann saga. Especially when it comes to Star Awards show.
Saying this and reminiscing the moments, i missed the moments spent with my cousin.
I somehow, felt that he's so so missing from my life suddenly. What's bothering him, i don't know. He should know that i always want him near me and part of my life. Back then and in future. Remember that.
